Can you see him?

It’s been another whirlwind week… it went by quick for me I’m sure it seemed to fly for Josh.  He’s been in Colorado all week.  My last post was Tuesday, Wednesday night I listened online to the same sermon Josh was listening to in Colorado.  That was pretty cool but I really couldn’t hear it very well – so I only tuned in one night.  The other cool thing they had online was – pictures!  He looks intent on whatever game they are explaining – he’s so competitive!  ;o)

While he was away, I got news from my doctor about my routine lab work not being good.  My liver counts are higher than they were last time and last time they were so high they sent me for a sonogram that showed I have a fatty liver.  Just what you want to hear that you are fat on the inside out.  So, I’ve got to eat healthier until I know what else to do from a GI doctor that I’ll see next Wednesday.  Luckily, Zales is on board with being healthy.  Along with the Ramp Walks Tuesday’s and Thursday’s they are now offering 1/2 price Salad Bar on those days as well!

With my mind on Josh and trying my best to be healthy – I had to take a moment to myself (w/Janelle) and de-stress Friday – treating myself to a much-needed pedicure!  I really needed to be cleaning my house but well – I really needed to unwind from the week… and it won!

One of my most FAVORITE thing to do!

After treating myself, I did do some cleaning – then Denny and I had dinner at Lupe’s our favorite place to eat.  We shared Fajitas - I had the chicken with corn tortilla – it was the healthiest thing to eat.  ;o)  We walked around Barnes and Noble basically our main date night thing to do - it was nice.  Trying to de-stress our brains from the week, we came home and got some rest.  We had to be up at in the wee hours to get Josh!  Originally they were to be home by 2:30 – 3:00, we get a text saying 3:45.  I was more than happy to see him at 4:10 AM!  Weird driving that early in the morning – and do you know what – Starbucks is NOT open that early.  So, today I’ve enjoyed hearing all about his trip, seeing his pictures and most of all I loved that he got closer to God with a great group of kiddos!  He’s excited to read the”big book with all the numbers” and get started on the devotionals he bought.

This week while I’ve been to preoccupied with this stuff, I never let it get me down.  I always keep looking UP to HIM “because that is where it all is”!   I know He’s the best way to refocus!  No pedicure can compare to the awesome peace God can bring you.  Occupy yourself with HIM – he’ll love it and you will too!  ;o)

At work today on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s they do a Ramp It walk – three times around three floors and up ramps equals a mile.  Works great since Tuesday’s I can’t workout because I have my life group.  So, I have my little weights and go Walk the Ramps.  Sometimes my walking partners can’t make it and I use my music to set my pace!  But WHY oh WHY do they always get so tangled?  How does this happen?!  I’m thinking there must be little elves inside there that work all day to tangle all up.  I’m sorry but I always have to untangle before I get going – it just bugs me.

needed to gas up for all the running around with Josh I had to do to get him ready for his Summer Church Camp.  He was so ready and excited about his trip.  Two trips to south Arlington for his contacts, then glasses – gees – that is a long yucky drive – but Dr. Martin makes it worth it!!  ;o) 

Saturday… another trip to Arlington, laundry, and packing… but we took a moment for what’s important and had a nice family dinner.  Denny grilled burgers and I made Strawberry shortcake – fresh strawberries!  YUM!

 Mom even came over for dessert!  I have to say having everyone at the table makes a mom so very happy!!  ;o)  Something about gathering at the table with each other and having a meal – just makes you feel sooo blessed.

We went to bed early Saturday because we had to be at the church at 6:03 Brent’s time…  They didn’t leave till about 6:50 but they made it safely to their destination.  Sleeping overnight in Colorado City and continue on tomorrow to Estes Park, Colorado!  I can’t wait to log on to their website and see all the fun!!  (No picture of Josh and the vans – the one picture I got him to look at the camera came out blurry)    ;o((  I’m going to miss my little guy!!

Friday the beginning of my 1/2 day Friday’s so I took that opportunity to get Josh’s eyes checked – he was just about out of contacts and has to go to camp June 6th.  I didn’t want him not have extra contact at camp.  Poor guy his eyes got worse… ;o(   The day got better at least for a mom… The whole family went to dinner then a movie – it was a GREAT evening.  I can’t even remember when we went out to eat and a movie on a FRIDAY night no less!!  Lupe’s then Iron Man2

Sunday – Josh has another great Swim Party…well it was great to see old friends and the people who came had a great time.  But Memorial Day weekend didn’t turn out to be a good weekend to have the party…  Not as many people had come as last year – but everyone enjoyed themselves – including Josh!!

Well, this seems to be the theme this week – two-day post.   How did I not know Josh was THIS talented in art – I thought he was all athlete.  Ok, well that’s not true – I knew he was pretty good with pencil but this was a wide range of medium – the face is with Charcoal… I think I’m going to buy the kid some charcoal this summer!!  His lettering was pretty awesome too – can’t see it to well but it’s there on the left side – Old English looking.  Pretty impressive for a lefty!!  School is just about out! 

Michael turns 24!!

 So, tonight was Michael’s 24th birthday – wow!  it’s hard to believe my oldest is 24 already!  We’ve been through so much together in 24 years – I can’t wait to see what God has planned for this child of mine.  I know there is a plan for greatness!!   ;o)

Yeah Julia!

Anyway – Monday at work we celebrated Julia Duke’s 10 years with the company.  This lady is one of my work pray warriors – she has helped me pray through some tough times…  We’ve also prayed for her hubby – pictured there who has had all kinds of medical issues – but as you can see – Prayers work!!  ;O)) 

I don’t want to be a big whiny baby… WAAA! ;O( – OK I’m done.  I first started with the company 1993 – but I left thinking there was going to be greener pastures only to realize two and half years later that the grass is only as green as you keep it!  I came crawling back to my favorite yard and I’ve been keeping it tended ever since!  ;o)  Sometimes the grass gets a little dry due to water shortages but I just water it again and it pops right back – being beautiful!!  :O)  The ”WAAA”  - was because I haven’t had a sweet anniversary party because HR has me all messed up because I left and came back – sometimes they have my tenure back from 1993 and sometimes they have me when I came back – but basically I’ve definitely earned TWO – 5 year pins that I don’t have ;O(((  WAAA…

Stepping Up...Beth Moore

Today!!  I’m so excited – Janet was able to borrow our next study from her church for our church to use!!  I’ve got it in my hot little hands and I can’t wait to get started.  I’m going to have to watch and get ahead – after all a leader comes prepared right?!?  sounds good – really I just can’t wait!!  ;O)))))

 The weekend went non-stop – it was a whirl wind of fun!!  I went several places after work Friday with Nicole – that  now I forgot what they all were…  Let’s see…we tried to go out to hear her pastor Matt Chandler speak on Homosexuality. Would you believe that so many people had the same plan that by the time we got there it was at full capacity.  ;o(  Nicole was disappointed, we were interested in hearing what the bible has to say on the subject.  The Word had definite answer on how God feels about this and the ultimate commandment is to love God love people.  How do you love people who make choices that go against God’s word?   Who are we to judge?  We are commanded to love…I would have loved to hear this message. 

 Like I said it was already full so we tried a plan B, plan C and ended up adding a Plan D - we sat out on the patio at Yucatan Taco Stand in Southlake – it was a great night for a drink outside listening to great music!!  Michael joined us then we went to Chili’s for dessert.  After all that I realized when I hit the sack I TOTALLY forgot to take my Project 365 picture.  bummer… ;o(

I spent Saturday – cleaning, doing laundry, notes for church, shopped for baby Grady then chilled with the neighbors.  Denny took chillin’ and grillin’ to a whole new meaning…  I think he wants one too…

Prayers for my Life Group - finding the right WORD to send...

Wednesday night I sent out the email I try to send every week – giving our girls the prayers on everyone’s heart and dates to remember.  God’s been so good to my life group lately answering many prayers.  It gives hope during the times when we need more prayers and for the prayers that are still in the wait stage.  I do believe when he gives us the NO answer to our prayers we hear it – sooner or later we will have peace to the NO or we just know. 

Heart is beating...

Tonight was one of those nights that when someone in your life group calls and needs you – you know you can call one of us and we will drop whatever and be there for each other.  It is heart warming to say the least to know you have a life line like no other – better than Who Wants to be a Millionaire!  That is what having a life group is all about – I love my group of sisters!  God thank you for all of them…please restore the health, calm the fears and deliver peace that comes from knowing you are all over the situation ready to give life!

It’s the only way to watch TV!  I love watching Young and The Restless – right now it’s been just what I need.  Some story lines are just so funny!  It’s entertainment that doesn’t require thinking to hard – sometimes when you get off work.
